ESP Interclean 2016

The new Origin dispensers from esp are an all-encompassing range covering options from toilet tissue and hand towel units to matching air freshener and bulk fill soap dispensers. Origin is the first of its kind to include economically priced system dispensers within an entry level washroom range. Made from white ABS plastic, these contemporary dispensers are smart enough for everyday washrooms and strong enough for busy commercial facilities, including schools, factories and offices.

The Origin range is produced with no branding to allow for easy personalisation with screen printing options available on orders above 100 dispensers.

Blackmore Park – The Latest

IMG_0980

Following a successful public consultation at the beginning of March, we will be submitting formal planning application to Malvern Hills District Council within the next few days. The paperwork has finally been completed and we are extremely excited to move into the next stage of the Blackmore Park project.

Our current facilities cover just over 108,000 square feet, which is split between a converting unit, offices and three warehouses. Back in 2007, we started searching for suitable land / premises to amalgamate all areas into one location. The 19 acre site at Blackmore Park in Malvern was purchased in 2013. The new site will consolidate all operations enabling us to continue servicing our current markets whilst also allowing for future development and expansion into new markets.

Isla Buchanan, ESP’s Projects Manager, Matt Tebbatt of One Ltd and Philip Oakley of CPS Build have put together detailed design concepts of how our new facility may look:

ESP – Continuing To Make A Great Deal Of Difference

ESP are featured in the December issue of Tomorrow’s Cleaning Magazine – Out Now!

Read the cover story below:

As 2014 nears its end, esp are taking a look back at a very successful year in the paper industry.

At the outset, 2014 was earmarked as a defining year in esp history. The company set out specific growth plans which have exceeded all expectation and allowed for further investment to increase manufacturing capability ahead of their move to Blackmore Park in 2015.

The company’s current facilities cover just over 108,000 square feet, which is split between a converting unit, offices and three warehouses. In 2007, the company started searching for suitable land / premises to amalgamate all areas into one location. The 19 acre site at Blackmore Park in Malvern was purchased in 2013 and following months of design work and pre planning application, the move is finally set for the end of 2015, marking their 25th year in business.  The new site will consolidate all operations enabling the company to continue servicing their current markets whilst also allowing for future development and expansion into new markets. With innovative design plans and scheduled investment for at least two new production lines, esp’s desire to create a world class converting plant is well within the realms of possibility.

Only last month a high speed log saw and embossing unit were integrated into the existing Perini line giving complete flexibility to make the extensive range of esp quality tissue rolls across all manufacturing lines. Most recently, esp have invested in a new packing technology for their c-fold hand towel machine, which means rather than paper wrap and cardboard boxes, the Enigma hand towels will now be in a cellophane wrap and a clear polythene bag.  The launch of this new environmentally friendly packaging means the distributors of the esp Engima brand and ultimately, their customers, will have less volume waste to deal with than the traditional cardboard cases. The new wrap and bags have now fully replaced the old packaging and this is also being rolled out to the private label customer base. In addition to the instant benefits seen by the customer, it also reduces the carbon footprint by enabling an increased level of product per pallet, which has a direct impact on transportation. esp sees this as the first in a number of environmental projects that will come to fruition over the next twelve months. Following esp’s ISO Certification in June, the company have increased its awareness of their environmental impact and as part of the journey of continuous improvement have been investigating ways this impact can be reduced. Reaching ISO 9001:2008 Quality and ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Standards, has kick started a new stage of development at esp with the whole team, both management and staff, fully committing to the roles expected. The standards ensure esp will continue to provide consistent, reliable and fit for purpose solutions whilst being an environmentally aware organisation.

2014 also saw the introduction of the esp train – 6 personalised lorries shipping pallets of paper disposables to their growing network of distributors across the UK. In recognition of their committed team, each trailer bears the name of the longest standing members of esp staff along with a serial number made up of the date they started.  As a company esp have maintained their profile of an important local employer and continually invest in their staff, providing training and encouraging personal growth which is highlighted by their entry into the2014  EEF Future Manufacturing Awards in the “Development of People” category. esp firmly believe that continual investment in their people and manufacturing capabilities has allowed them to successfully expand their customer base and develop a national presence.

We asked Sales Director, Martin Kent, to reflect on the last few months at esp “It’s exciting times here at esp. We are on track to exceed our growth expectations and continue to maximise every opportunity. We have a great team, which is also growing in line with the business. This month we will add another member to the team. Lee Blake will join us as Regional Sales Manager for the South East and we have no doubt that Lee will bring valuable expertise to esp.  2015 will be our 25th Anniversary and we are already planning some really exciting marketing campaigns building up to the opening of Blackmore Park. Our focus as always is the customer and our planned activities will reflect this.”

Whether they are focused on customers, products or staff, esp recognise the importance of giving back and as featured in the last issue of Tomorrow’s Cleaning, they supported the Poppy Appeal throughout November, raising over £200.00 for the charity. Throughout 2015, esp have a number of promotions planned, linking in with their 25 years in the paper industry. You can sign up to receive these promotions by visiting their website www.espenigma.com. You can also find esp across various social media platforms; Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and they even have their own blog; espenigma.net. The company also feature a selection of videos on their YouTube channel which provide insight into their range of system dispensers and how these can save customers up to 30% of their paper usage.  If you would like to find out more about any of the esp paper products or dispensers, contact the Enigma Care team on 01684 893 797.

Over the last 12 months, esp have continued to set themselves apart within the paper disposables industry with their professional but personable team providing a refreshing approach to market. Their longstanding and established Engima brand, combined with their flexibility and drive for continuous improvement means 2015 should exceed the standards set out by 2014. esp’s New Year’s resolution? To continue making a great deal of difference.

New Investment at ESP….

Our latest investment is covered in the current issue of Tomorrow’s Cleaning…

Its already been a busy start to 2014 for esp and last week the company welcomed two machine enhancements to increase its manufacturing capability at their Malvern production plant.

Now certified to ISO 9001:2008 Quality and ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management standards , esp are forging ahead with development and expansion plans ahead of the 2015 opening of their new site at Blackmore Park – where investment will mean two brand new production lines.

Prior to the company’s move an additional high speed logsaw and embossing unit have been integrated into the existing Perini line giving complete flexibility to make the extensive range of esp quality tissue rolls across all manufacturing lines. Production speeds will be increased meaning the company’s ambitious growth plans are well within reach.

Get the inside track on the tissue company making a great deal of difference….

2014 looks to be a first class year for esp. With a 25th celebration on the horizon, growth plans have been set out and are well and truly underway.

As a company focussed on continuous improvement, esp have taken the next step in their development journey and are now proudly certified to ISO 9001:2008 Quality and ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management Standards. By design, each standard ensures the esp customer remains the driving force behind the company, with the spotlight on not only meeting, but exceeding, expectations of service, quality and environmental awareness. One of their long term distributors told us what the company’s ISO certification means to them:

“Pearroc Ltd are very pleased that esp are part of the ISO certification. This ensures quality is consistent, as it has always been, and gives my customers piece of mind that all checks are in place. This will help us moving forwards with contractual or regulatory requirements on tenders”.

By committing to ISO Quality Services and the objectives laid out in both standards, the whole esp team, both management and staff, accept their individual responsibilities for ensuring the systems are followed and understood, in order to aid the continuing development and growth of the company.

With ISO certification under their belts, plans for the company’s new site in Blackmore Park, Malvern are forging ahead with pre planning application to build over 150,000 square feet of factory, warehouse and offices within the 19 acre site. Blackmore Park will consolidate all operations to enable the company to continue servicing their current markets whilst also allowing for future development and expansion into new markets. Investment is already planned for two brand new production lines and development will definitely not stop there, with the overall desire to create a world class converting plant. esp plan to make the offices a fun and vibrant place to work as well as being a great facility for customers and suppliers alike to visit.

In line with the move to Blackmore Park, which will be complete by the end of 2015, esp have launched accelerated growth plans and throughout the start of this financial year they have seen unprecedented sales figures in double digits. Martin Kent, Sales Director for esp, is delighted with the progress and is confident his team of sales animals will make it a record breaking year for the company.

“Whilst we are seeing unprecedented growth as a result of a healthy pipeline, we are also really excited about our ISO qualifications. The reality of ISO for esp is that certification not only gives our existing customers assurance of quality but it also opens doors to us that were previously closed. esp will always push the boundaries of our business and we are experiencing very exciting times as a company. The next three years promise to be exhilarating for both staff and customers alike, with new products, new premises and new targets; it is certainly full steam ahead with the esp train!!”

Ahead of their 25th Anniversary year in 2015, esp have commissioned six brand new trailers with their freight partners White Logistics. The launch of these personalised lorries will mean you will be seeing a whole lot more of esp throughout the UK with the esp train now shipping pallets of paper disposables to their growing network of distributors across the country. As a sign of recognition to their committed team, each trailer bears the name of the longest standing members of esp staff – Paul “Sten”, Arron, Keith “Dobby”, Chris “Cropper”, Dave and Lee. Each lorry also has an individual “serial” number, which is the date each staff member started their employment with esp. With all six now out on the road, a social media campaign has been launched to encourage a bit of (esp) train spotting, with the first person to capture a “selfie” with each trailer being set to receive a great prize. Follow @espenigma on Twitter for more information on how you can get involved.

With so much going on at esp, it’s easy to see why they are setting themselves apart within the paper disposables industry and they are showing no signs of slowing down. The next six months look set to see a number of milestones reached by the company. With their longstanding and established Enigma Brand, flexibility to provide a comprehensive private label package, a refreshing approach to market with a team that is both professional and personable, it’s clear to see esp truly has “a great deal of difference”.

Blackmore Park – work progresses

Blackmore Park - work progresses

Site clearance well underway with the demolition of remainder of old buildings and site cleared whilst recycling as many items as possible. The flattened area shown will be the location of our new factory and warehouse facility.

To date, over 110 tonnes has been cleared from the site – that’s equivalent to 80 male African elephants!!

Blackmore Park Team Visit

Before Christmas the team from ESP were given the opportunity to visit the new site at Blackmore Park.  We were collected from our current site on the Enigma Business Park and driven the short distance to Blackmore Park only 15 minutes away at the foot of the Malvern Hills.

Front of Office Building at Blackmore Park

We were all very excited to be given the opportunity to see the site for the first time and to be able to ask questions about the move.

On arrival we had the opportunity to look around the shell of the office building which has already been built –many were already choosing where they wanted their offices to be!  We were then taken on a tour of the 12 acre site, I don’t think any of us appreciated how big the site was going to be –I’m pretty sure I heard a few request for golf buggies to help people cover the large site when we move in!

After the tour the team met up in the office building for lunch where a display had been put together outlining the history of Blackmore Park and how ESP intend to develop the site which were all very interesting – for example, did you know Blackmore Park was used as a military hospital in World War 2?

Keep an eye on the blog or the At Issue newsletter for further updates which will include details on the very interesting history of Blackmore Park which can be traced back to the early 1500.
